MATHEMATICAL FORMULAS
This Mathematical Formaulae handbook has been prepared in response to a request from the Physics Consultative Committee, with the hope that it will be useful to those studying physics. It is to some extent modelled on a similar document issued by the Department of Engineering, but obviously reflects the particular interests of physicists. There was discussion as to whether it should also include physical formulae such as Maxwell’s equations, etc., but a decision was taken against this, partly on the grounds that the book would become unduly bulky, but mainly because, in its present form, clean copies can be made available to candidates in exams
£3.75 Preview RemoveApplications of Machine Learning in Bioinformatics: Unlocking Insights from Genomic Data
This insightful note explores the fascinating field of bioinformatics and its powerful integration with machine learning. We investigate how machine learning algorithms are revolutionizing our understanding of biology by concentrating on genomic data analysis. Discover the great potential of machine learning in interpreting complicated genetic information as we delve into the field of genomics. Learn how these algorithms help with gene expression analysis, DNA sequence analysis, and protein structure prediction, allowing researchers to categorize genes, discover functional elements, and predict protein structures with remarkable precision. Witness the transformative impact of machine learning in drug discovery, where algorithms analyze vast amounts of genomic and chemical data to identify potential drug candidates and predict their effectiveness. Explore the implications this has for personalized medicine and the development of new therapies.

£1.49 Preview RemoveAnal Cancer in the LGBTQIA Populations
Anal cancer refers to the type of cancer that occurs on the anus, particularly at the distal opening to the gastrointestinal tract. The disease may manifest in various ways, including bleeding from the anal area or the development of a lump near the anus. Furthermore, the disease may manifest through pain, itchiness, or sometimes, anal discharging. While there are several risk factors, the human papillomavirus (HPV), HIV/AIDS, and engaging in anal sex are the leading causes of anal cancer. Other less common risk factors include engaging in heterosexual or anal sex behavior with several sexual partners. With at least 8300 individuals testing positive in the United States yearly, the disease is one of the leading cancer-related diseases in the US (National Cancer Institute, n.p). Furthermore, there is a worrying trend since the 1990s, with the latest increase in the United States being estimated at 68% as of 2019.
