Everything you that you can see or feel is called matter. Matter is made up of tiny particles. Scientist sort matter into 3 groups, these three groups are called : solid, liquid, and gas. ex : fruit, book, table, bricks, shoe -Solids Solid take the same shape, same amount of space, and keep the same volume. They can't be squashed or poured. -Liquids Liquids take the same shape following its container, same amount of space, and keep the same volume. They can't be squashed, but they can be poured and move through gaps. ex : oil, water, milk, -Gas Gas fill any closed container they are in, they flow like liquids. Their volume can changed, they are very easy to squash. It weigh very little. You often cannot see or feel gases, but sometimes you can smell them and feel moving air on your face. ex : wind, smells from food, the air inside the balloons
