Algebra notes matrices and Determinants

Matrices are rectangular arrays of numbers or symbols arranged in rows and columns. They are used to represent linear equations, transformations, and many other mathematical concepts. Matrices can be added, subtracted, and multiplied by other matrices using specific rules. The transpose of a matrix is obtained by interchanging its rows and columns. Determinants are scalar values associated with square matrices. They are used to determine whether a matrix has an inverse, and to compute the inverse if it exists. Determinants can be computed using various methods, such as cofactor expansion, row or column operations, or using properties of determinants. They are also used in solving systems of linear equations, finding areas and volumes, and in other applications.

Absolute value equations and inequalities (Algebra)

Absolute value is a mathematical function that returns the distance of a number from zero on a number line. In algebra, we use absolute value equations and inequalities to solve problems where we need to find the value(s) of a variable that satisfy a given condition involving absolute value. An absolute value equation involves an absolute value expression set equal to a constant or another expression. To solve an absolute value equation, we need to consider two cases: one where the expression inside the absolute value is positive, and one where it's negative. We solve each case separately and then combine the solutions.
