Evaluate the Influence Different Stakeholders Exert in One Organisation (D1)
In this task I am going to evaluate the influences that stakeholders exert on Colchester Zoo
...

In Colchester zoo they have different types of stakeholders, they have internal which contain the
employees, owners and then you have external stakeholders which contain customers, government and
suppliers
...

The first stakeholder I am going to evaluate is owners which are internal stakeholders
...
This is a very important job what needs to be done very
carefully because if the owner employs too many employees then they will find themselves in a financial
problem because they will not have the money to pay all of their wages come the end of the month, but
then on the other hand if the owner employs less employees than is needed then the business wouldn’t
function properly because employees will be rushed off their feet trying to do so many jobs in half of
time and this can lead to problems like the happiness of the employees will decrease and motivational
levels will be done and this will then have a big effect on the business aims and objectives
...
One example of this would be a time related one which for Colchester zoo
would be "increase amount of visitors by 5 % within the next 18 months"
...
The employees
can be very influential on the business, the human resources of the business controls the happiness of
the employees, and they will deal with the employees problems and concerns, the main areas which the
employees focus on are wages and job satisfaction
...

A big external stakeholder is the suppliers this is because they can have so much influence on the
business and their main concerns are long term contracts, quality and pricing of materials and the
product availability
...
Suppliers also affect the costs because they may
sell them the materials cheap and then over time rise the prices of the material leaving the business in
trouble because if they don’t pay then it will leave the business will not materials and they will be
unable to function and they will lose money
...
The
government can have a bad effect on the business meeting its aims and objectives because their aim
may be to increase numbers of animals but the government may say no because it might affect the
public’s safety and they may need to take extra measures and this will have an effect on suppliers and
investors because they will not get the extra money because the government has refused the great
opportunity put forward by the owners
...
Customer’s are the epicenter to any business because without the
customers then there will be no money going into the business only out
...
one the other hand customer can also influence different thing such as
the business suppliers because the suppliers may be putting a bad image out for example Colchester Zoo
protect the animals and the environment and the supplier may be getting materials that have come
from a supplier who sources the materials from forests and animals habitats and the customers may
protest and publicly humiliate the supplier and business because of this, so the business has to be very
carefully
...
All stakeholders have different interests, therefore it is
difficult for owners/managers to ensure everyone is kept happy with the decisions that they make
...
