Describe the different stakeholders who influence the purpose of the police and
Colchester zoo (P2)
In this task I will be talking about what are stakeholders and what there influences will be on the
business and I will talking about 7 different stakeholders in each business and I will be fully
justifying them
...
A stakeholder can be a person, group or organization that has interest or concern in an
organization
...
There are different types of
stakeholders within a business and these are creditors, directors, employees, government (and
its agencies), owners (shareholders), suppliers, unions, and the community from which the
business draws its resources
...
Shareholders are stakeholders in a corporation, but stakeholders are
not always shareholders
...
There are two types of stakeholders in a business, one is internal groups within a business or
people who work directly within the business and other is external and these are groups outside
a business or people who are not directly working within the business but are affected in some
way from the decisions of the business
...
The last internal
stakeholder would be an investor, this are internal because they are investing in the business
helping it move forward, but the investor will get a cut of the profit at the end of each financial
year
...
The police
In the police they have different types of stakeholders, they have internal which contain the
employees, managers, unions and the government and then you have external stakeholders
which contain suppliers and the public
...
This is the same for managers of the police because
they are in charge if the police officers and they both can have big positives effects of the
business
...
Employees have a big effect on the business
because if they work hard it will benefit the business, they may not get money in return because
the police is a non-profit organisation but it will create a better work place
...
The government is the main stakeholder in the police because the government is the one who
funds and injects all of the money into the police
...
Because the government injects all of the money into the police they have a big say on
what happens and what goes on, for example the government has meeting all of the time with
the chief commissioner of police to see where the money is being spent and is the police good
value for money because if they are not then the government will step in and change things
around
...
The public
can have a good effect on the police but can also have a very bad effect on the police
...
The main disadvantage of the public being
stakeholders are that they will not be able to please everyone meaning there is a split in trust
between police and locals and this may lead to an increase in crime
...
Both internal and external can have
separate effects and both can cause joint effects on each other
...
Employees have a big effect on the business
because if they work hard it will benefit the business because they will make more money and in
return the employees will be better off because they are stakeholder and they are getting
something from them business
...
Owners and investors are very import and they will
have the biggest say out of all of the stakeholders both internal and external because the
owners and investors are the ones that are putting the money into the business helping it run its
day to day operations and its long term operations
...
One way in which this can happen is the owners decide to give their
staff a pay rise but to cater for this they may have to rise the admission rate to get into the zoo,

this will have a bad effect on the customers because they have to pay more but it will have a
good effect on the employees because they get more money, so it can have mixed effects
...
A way in which the customers can have a good effect on the zoo is by spending more
money at the zoo or donating money to them to help them grow, the customers can also have a
big effect on what happens at the zoo because if they plan to do something and customer are
not happy then the zoo may lose customers meaningless profit overall for the business
...
The
community also helps the funding of the animal programmes that the zoo runs, the community
is also another stakeholder in the business, they will be affected by the decisions made by the
internal stakeholders regarding prices for entry and different events and actives that they
provide
...
