Warm up: Go Ball Revenge
1
...
2 cones are set up between you
and your partner around 5 metres
away from each other
3
...
The receiver and kicker start on
the closest cone to the area and
after a count down the kicker
boots the football as far as they
can
5
...
Whilst the receiver is returning the
football the kicker has to run
between the two cones as many
times as they can (up and back is
1 run)
7
...
The student with the most runs,
wins the competition
9
...
Also add in a 3-5 step run up to
gain more momentum onto the ball as
well

-The teacher should situate
themselves just behind where the
kickers boot the ball
-Teachers must ensure that the
receivers return the right ball that is
kicked by their partner as well as the
kicking partner keeping the right score
and not cheating
-Teacher should announce a winner of
the whole class and challenge other
students to try and beat the person
with the
record

Bridging organisation
-Students are to bring in all the cones and the footballs from the drill and place them down in front of the teacher
-Split the group into 4 lines, and the first 4 people can set out the cones for the upcoming drill

9
...
4 groups are to be made from the
students and set up in a square
formation, (use the centre square
outline if possible)
2
...
Once the lead student has
marked the ball, another player
comes off the cone and receives
a handball
4
...
Students must be paying attention
and come off the cone and get
into the drill if necessary
6
...
Add in a defender if the group is
doing well and moving the football
smoothly

Kicking
-The students should kick the football to
advantage of the students leading out to
receive the ball, rmeebering to guide the
football down on their foot to ensure
optimal accuracy and efficiency

-Teacher should stand and observe
the students from the sideline and
walk around to every group to get
different vantage points of the
students

Handball
-Students should handball the ball to
advanatge also, so the studnets can run
onto and receive the ball without
breaking stride

Bridging organisation:
-Bring in all the equipment used in the activity and sit down as a group
-Split the group into even teams of 8-9 students in each team
-Should be 4 teams that participate in the game and elect captains for each team
-Get all the students to help set up the fields and the divisions of the ovals

Lesson Plan Template 2016

and divide the players into
midfielders, defenders and
attackers
2
...
Idea of the game is to score as
many goals as possible (goals) to
win the championship
4
...
The game will run 2x5mins halves
and should be an enjoyable end
to the 6 week program

Closure:

Kicking
-Preferred kicking style for this
competition should be a drop punt,
remember to hold the ball straight down
and guide it onto the foot for the perfect
backspin and accuracy when kicking
Handballing
-Handballing should only be used if
required because any distance kick is a
mark, so more often than not a kick will
be more beneficial and useful during the
game

-Teacher should be the umpire of the
game and move around the ground to
facilitate how things run
-Should try and include everyone,
whether that means make adjustments
or modify the rules, but is in charge of
getting everyone to participate as
much as
possible

Marking
-Marking is an important skill as it gives
you time to go back and assess the
options
...

Watching the football come into your
hands is vital to taking a good grab
Tackling/Tagging
-Tagging the opposition when they have
the ball is important as it puts them
under pressure and more likely of a
turnover
...
The captain
from each team to return all equipment (cones, bibs and footballs)
...

Students are sitting in front of the teacher
...
The teacher then asks a student to demonstrate or talk through the key teaching points of kicking,
handballing and marking picking students from different identified abilities during the lesson
