effect which it has specifically on Gertrude who witnessed the murder

have connotations of nature which could suggest that Gertrude has started to believe that
Hamlet’s madness is caused naturally as opposed to having a definitive cause such as

Moreover, the words “sea” and “wind” also connote to idea’s of destruction, this is also
supported through the use of the word “mad” which suggests a sense of uncountable and
unpredictable
