● Provide illustrations which will bring your story
alive

● Pictures/diagrams can say very quickly what it
might take you a thousand words to describe

● If you use pictures/diagrams by other people or
taken from books/magazines, make sure that you
have permission
from the rightful owners to use them
● Sometimes you will need to add a short sentence to
the caption telling where they came from
