Deltoid Muscle

Supraspinatus muscle
Origin :
Supraspinous fossa of the scapula
Insertion:
Greater Tubercle of humerus (upper aspect)
Action:
Initiate abduction of shoulder joint (from 0˚ to 15˚ )
Stabilizing shoulder joint
Nerve supply:
Suprascapular nerve

Infraspinatus muscle
Origin : From infraspinus fossa of the scapula
Insertion:
Greater Tubercle of humerus (middle aspect)
Action:
Lateral rotation and adduction of the shoulder joint
Stabilizing shoulder joint
Nerve supply:
Suprascapular nerve

Subacromial bursa is
present below the arch and
above tendon of
