1 FIRST WEEKLY REFLECTION
In the first week working on with the grammar coursework project Task 2, my group
members consisting of Clara Die Mee Yieng, Shriley Enya and I had set up several meetings
pertaining to the requirement of the coursework project Task 2

In order to fulfil the requirement of coursework project Task 2, our group
had decided to select Unit 5 – Rosemary and the Four Gusty Gnomes (Year 4 Unit) as the
main topic of our lesson plan

Moving on to the content of the lesson plan, as for the set induction, we had decided
to start a lesson by conducting a simple activity

According to Pieterse (2012),
learning readiness is important for students’ cognition as preparation for new knowledge input

In the next few stages, we had decided to incorporate fun elements into the learning
of superlative adjectives by bring the students into the world of “Rosemary and the Four Gusty
Gnomes”

Queen are few features in this lesson plan that are used to impart and assess students’
understanding on superlative adjectives

Events in the lesson were highlighted by the characters and this will eliviate the mood of the
students as well as their motivation to enjoy learning

Kuehn (2011) emphasises that moral values are necessary part of the curriculum
especially during the implementation of teaching and learning activities

Students will face different activities
during the implementation of the lesson and through application of teamwork and the
awareness of helping the needy, they will not only learn superlative adjective contextually but
also learn to apply the moral value into good use

These knowledge will certainly help me in my near future as

2 SECOND WEEKLY REFLECTION
In the second week working on with the grammar coursework project Task 2, my group
members and I now moved our focus towards devising and creating teaching aids pertaining
to the requirement of the coursework project Task 2

Moving on to the creation of the teaching aids, we had amended several parts of the
activities after we had received our lesson plan draft from the lecturer

In order to allow cognitive development of the
students to take place effectively, the worksheets and models created give further focus on
problem solving questions

By doing so, they will be able to learn to “incorporate cooperation into
learning by helping one another…” (Adam, 2010) as they completed the given tasks based on
superlative adjectives

In most of the teaching aids that were created, we had prepared worksheets and other
group tasks that suits the students’ level of proficiency
...

We had created the activities in such a way to allow students to experience learning without
over exceeding their learning capability

Students
of high level of proficiency are targeted to use five out of six of the superlatives adjectives
while low level proficiency students may use at least three out of six of the superlative
adjectives in writing the sentences
...
This further proved that students should be allowed to apply their newly learnt
knowledge according to their personal capability
...

In conclusion, this week, I was able to learn to develop teaching aids that gives focus
on the grammar items as well as accentuating the needs to apply thinking skills and
cooperative learning into conducting the teaching and learning activities
...
With these new
information, I will be able to develop my teaching competency in grammar in the near future
