Basic story outline
“My name is Carley Durne
...
From the little information that I’ve gathered, a small section of the CIA
rebooted the MK Ultra project, teenagers were the main victim of the experimentations, and they
were going to be made into some sort of army
...
Three years into the project, something incredible happened to me
...
This time they
made sure it would be impossible for word to get out about it
...
Carley and her brother were part of the first group the agents kidnapped and began to experiment
on
...
While the parents of the first group of teenagers were putting up posters, making
appearances on TV and mourning, they were being injected with a list of newly created chemicals,
put through extreme tests and held in a cell
...
While lying in her bed at night
to try sleep, the hushed conversations of the nurses and guards that monitored over the patients
that lived in this hall filled her ears
...
This ‘ability’ continued to increase over the next few weeks, she could now pick up even the smallest
of sounds; the blood pumping around one the nurse’s body, the sound of the tools from one of the
experiment rooms on the other side of her facility, even the footsteps of the busy people in the city
above her
...
The nurse at the front desk wanted her lunch break, the new thirteen year old
next door wanted her parents, and one of the lab doctor’s wanted to know how his latest
experiment had caused a patient to die
...
Days between experiments were spent listening to the soothing sounds of the heartbeats
around her and the meaningless chit chat of the city above her
...
After yelling for more information and creating a scene
inside of her cell, guards came to collect her and take her to be in a ward on her own
...
A nurse quickly took one of the formulated syringes that would sedate any of the patients at a time
like this and injected Carley with the blue liquid, causing her body to become limp
...
She tried to
listen for any information, but the only sound she heard was her own body functioning and the buzz
from the city above
...
Narrowing her eyes
slightly, she envisioned them unbuckling and freeing her wrists
...
As one of the timid nurses –Lisa- came to check on her to report back to the doctor, she kept eye
contact with her
...
“Where’s my brother?” She questioned, eyes still locked with Lisa’s
...
” The woman’s mind was blank, which
made Carley curious
...
“Where is the East facility?” She noticed the slight
colour change of Lisa’s eyes as she questioned her and let a small smirk grow on her face
...
“You are done here,” she said, causing the nurse to repeat the
words
...
”
Carley spent the following weeks manipulating the minds of those that she spoke to, gaining
information on her brother, and about the facilities
...
Weeks of planning went by, each little detail of her getting all of the people here out and back to
their parents was thought over multiple times, though she was unsure of how they would react to
being back at their normal life
...
Over
the weeks of planning, she learned that she could control the minds of more than one person at a
time
...
Lisa’s shift would be the time she would put her plan into action, get out of the cell, make the guards
and nurses leave, get all of the patients out
...
She lead them down the route to the exit of the facility, letting them all go before she went back
inside to get information on her brother
...
The Genre
The genre of this game will be a mix between fantasy and action
...
Stealth will also be crucial within
some parts of the game, as Carley needs to sneak into a place silently and hide before she can
control different items or people
...
“PEGI 16+
games are flagged for “violence towards human characters” who react to being shot
as they would in real life
...
(211 occurrences in 2013)”
My game will not have a gender target, as the game aims to be appealing to both genders
...
Target Platform
There are multiple platforms that I could release my game on: Nintendo Wii, PS Vita, Xbox360, PS4
and many more
...
I want to release on these instead of older gen consoles because
I want the user to be able to experience the best possible graphics
...
A good game needs to have stellar audio, story and graphics
...
Inspiration
As a great lover of reading and watching films, most of my inspiration comes from things such as
Lucy, The X-Men comics, Chronicle, Limitless, even a small amount was taken from Stephen King’s
Carrie
...
They wanted to develop a mind control drug to use against the Soviets,
as it was thought that the Soviets, the Chinese and North Koreans used mind control techniques on
the U
...
prisoners of war in Korea
...
I had already put together the main section of the story, but I couldn’t decide how Carley, her
brother, and the other teenagers that were there got there, or how they gained the powers
...
This sparked an idea for the beginning, so I quickly wrote it into the story, and I
really liked how it fit together

Gameplay
Interaction Model – In Justitia, the player will be required to use the full controller
...
Single and Multi-player – Justitia will not have a multiplayer
...
Narrative – The narrative in the game will be told through many forms
...
The information on how and why the facilities were made will be told through nurses
that Carley can control, and through files that she looks through
...
Game setting – The setting of the game is a high tech lab / hospital
...
Goals, Challenges, rewards – Throughout the game, there will be small side quests that the
user can do, such as going to talk to a nurse, or collects 10 pieces of evidence from one area
...
Both of
these things will be rewarded with XP which the user can use to improve Carley’s abilities
...
An example will be, if Carley
picks up a file that could be used as evidence, then it will be stored in her inventory, or if the
play unlocks one of Carley’s abilities, then the place on the D-pad will become valid
...
This will make sure that the game can be played by people at their own pace, and so that
they’re not suck at a level that they find too difficult
...
In easy, it will take a lot of noise for the guards to
be alerted, but in expert, they will be on alert at all times
...
It will display the completed tasks in green, and
the to do tasks in blue
...
Visual Style
Terrain – In Justitia, there will be two types of terrain
...
The hospital terrain will be
bright, clean and very uniform, whereas the world above the hospital will be dark, uneven
and dirty
...
Architecture – In my game, the architecture will vary depending on where Carley is
...
The walls will be an eggshell colour
with white accents
...
In the streets above, it will all
be untidy, there will be a mix of colours for the signs, the shop signs, the people will all be
dressed differently, and there will be many articles of rubbish laid around
...
These can range from notes, to small trinkets that will help distract people
...
All documents will have
neat text with a signature and logo, the trinkets can be a small surgical instrument such as a
scalpel or empty syringe, or it could be a mug collected from the nurse station
...
Throughout the game, Carley can
change into the clothes that she finds in the staff rooms she manages to enter
...
The other patients will wear the same, with a different number on the front
...
The guards will be all black
with heavy armour and tinted helmets that hide their faces
...
The inventory screen will show what Carley has on her, a percentage of how
much of the game is completed, and tasks will be show in green or blue
...
The user will only see the hands of Carley
...
This will also help the user see things in much better detail
throughout the game
...
Some will show
the player a flash back, some will show them what they need to do in order to progress, and
some of the fighting scenes will be a cut scene
...
Carley will be injected with a
chemical named
‘CHEM10029338’
Carley falls asleep
Can now hear the sound of the
city above the ward
She’ll begin to scream and kick
her door for more information
on him
Carley will be injected with
something to put her to sleep
Reads Lisa
Gathers as much information
as she can
Waits to hear Lisa at the front
desk
Finds the main file room
Goes up to city and makes her
way to the second facility
Fights the boss
Screen will move to Carley
laying in her bed looking at the
faux windows of her cell
Her name will be called and
she will be taken to the
experiment room by a nurse
