Point:
an exact location but has no size
Line:
a set of points in a straight path that continues forever in OPPOSITE
directions
Line Segment:
part of a line with TWO endpoints
Ray:
part of a line with ONE endpoint and extending forever in ONE
direction
Plane:
a flat and endless surface, only has length and width
Angle:
TWO rays joined at a common endpoint called the vertex
Right Angle:
an angle whose measure is exactly 90°
Obtuse Angle:
an angle whose measure is between 91° and 180°
Acute Angle:
an angle whose measure is between 0° and 89°
Straight Angle:
an angle whose measure is exactly 180°
Adjacent Angles:
angles that are next to each other and share a ray
Vertical Angles:
angles that face each other and are equal in measure
Transversal:
a line that crosses through 2 parallel lines
Corresponding Angles:
angles that are on the same side of the transversal line and are in
corresponding positions
Alternate Interior Angles:
angles that are on opposite sides of the transversal line and on the
INSIDE of the parallel lines
Alternate Exterior Angles:
angles that are on opposite sides of the transversal line and on the
OUTSIDE of the parallel lines
Supplementary:
when the measure of 2 angles is exactly 180°
Complementary:
when the measure of 2 angles is exactly 90°
Intersecting Lines:
lines that cross at one point
Parallel Lines:
lines that NEVER intersect
Perpendicular Lines:
lines that intersect to form a right angle
Skew Lines:
lines that ARE NOT in the same plane, don't intersect, and are not
parallel
