● SEND UP
- Send ups will include only the "Written portion" for all 3 subjects and each will be of 100 marks
...
No Vivas, No practicals, and No OSPEs
...
So, if a lot of students fail,
(a)
...

(b)
...

- In my 1st year, they reduced the passing percentage to 40%
...
So
much that only 10 students failed out of 325
...
And then you have to reappear in the Supply
Examination after about 40 days
...
i
...
, either your
attendance is short or either you have failed your send up
...
They cannot stop a lot of students from appearing in the Prof
...
Usually it is that you have to fulfill 2 or 3 of the following requirements:

(a)
...
Passing Anatomy Send up
(c)
...
Passing Physio Send up
(e)
...
Passing Biochem Send up

If you have 2/6 or 3/6 (depending on the criteria whether you need 2/6 or 3/6) you can appear in the
Annual Prof
...

- There are max 4 chances to clear your Prof (I)
...
You are out of the MBBS forever
...
In short, your number of
appearances is what that counts
...

- Timings may vary from 8 to 11 a
...
to 9 a
...
to 12 p
...
Usually it is the latter one
...
So
typically the "not so theeta" class is studying before exam day with their Facebook open
...
As you lose quite a lot of time because you have to fill your
name, roll number (in numerals and in words), etc
...
There is a separate
answer sheet for every question
...

- Sometimes they demand that you bring a 2B Pencil to fill out the MCQ response form
...

- Typically Annual Prof is a lot easier than the tests that RMC gives you
...

- You get a lot of time off (about 10 days or more) after the written part to prepare for the Practicals
and Vivas
...

'Objectively structured performance evaluation' is very important if you have to pass the Prof
...
OSPE is a main part
of it
...
There are 10 stations (or seats)
...
Every station has 1 or 2 short questions
...

Then after 1 to 2 minutes a bell rings
...
It all repeats 10
times until every student has covered the circle and attempted all stations
...
It is not actually a simple circle in Physio OSPE
...
In Anatomy and Biochem you have to cover
differently depending on the furniture of the room you are in
...

- Then there are some REST STATIONS
...

●PHYSIO PROFF
○ WRITTEN Portion:
- Traditionally the easiest of all the 3 written exams
...

- Books to follow: GUYTON + MINI GUYTON + FIRDAUS
...

- 45 MCQs
...
A lot
easier
...

- 9 SEQs each of 5 marks
...

Cell - 1 SEQ
Nerve - 1 SEQ
Muscle - 1 SEQ
Blood - 2 SEQs
Respo - 1 SEQ
Heart - 1 SEQ
Circulation - 1 SEQ
Thermoregulation - 1 SEQ

○ VIVA Portion:
- Greatly depends on who takes your Viva and the examiners mood
...
If you answer these easy ones you
will pass at 50%
...

- Highly likely if it is Sir Naeem then it is his mood that will define your performance
...
e
...
,

What is Blood?
What is Physiology?
What are the types of Anemia?
etc
...

- At the time of your Viva please be neat and don't try to impress Sir Naeem with a long beard
...
Ladies should wear the Dupatta though
...

- Do bring a pen in his room
...

- Mark your attendance before he asks you to do so
...

- Do not panic
...
Simple questions should be answered simply
...
Like B
...

- No need to show him your performance card if it is all RED
...
And only present it if he demands
...

- He asks questions from the Sketch copy
...

- External's viva doesn't matter a lot
...
Try passing 1 or 2 tests
along with the send up
...

○ PRACTICAL portion:
- Comes from the practical copy of course
...
That card will read
the practical you have to perform
...
In our
times we used to mark the easy practicals with some ink so to tell the next batch that look out for
these
...
And I used these marks to get my friends the same two practicals
for 4 consecutive days ! We all scored heavily
...
Start asking about the possible Viva
questions that the examiners might ask from your practical from the students nearby
...
Impress the examiner
...
Usually he performs it for you
...

- Don't talk at all if Sir Moosa or Maám Erum is around
...

- Easy questions regarding physiology
...

- OBSERVED station:

(a)
...

(b)
...

(c)
...

(d)
...

(e)
...

(f)
...
E
...
, have you put the subjects arm at the level of the manometer
while measuring his BP?

- Don't talk during the OSPE
...

● BIOCHEM PROFF
○ Written portion:
- Usually in Biochem, you come out of the exam center and you are like you are FAIL
...

- 45 MCQs
...

- 9x5 SEQs
...

- Anyway, take your card, and if you feel that you cannot do it, then just ask them to change it
...
"Ye nae ata madam"
...
And
they actually gave him a new card
...
(Waise 1st year ma
mujhe bhi nae ata tha tau Madam Sidrah meri answer sheet le gaen aur khud sara practical solve kr
ke mujhe pakra diya
...
Perform krna is so easy
...
Dekh dekh ke solve kr lo sara
...
Haan yaad rkhna ke pics
saaf khenchi hon
...
Ma ne pics bhi nae khenchi theen
...

- You are allowed to talk and play during the performance
...
Just like an ordinary Biochem practical day at RMC during Prof
...

○ OSPE portion:
- Mainly comes from your Practical copy

- Comprises of UNOBSERVED and OBSERVED stations
...

- Maám Zil e Huma and Maám Isma help a lot
...
But be careful when Sir Farman or Sir Qambar are about
...

- Be extra discreet if you want to ask your fellows about a station
...
And well the
best thing you can do is to write the answer two times
...

○ VIVA portion:
- External doesn't matter much
...
If your card is not good then you will be asked about Cell, Carbs, Proteins, and other easy
topics and will be given average marks
...
Doesn't matter, but be prepared
...

- If you have lost your card, go to Maám Isma and make a new one for yourself but for heavens sake
do not go for the viva without your performance card
...
Well that is quite false
and a misconception
...
All you need to do is to cover all the topics
...
Najeeb's video lectures for Embryology, diagrams from
histo practical for Histology, and Laiq Hussain for General Anatomy
...

○ OSPE portion:
(OSPE of Gross Anatomy)

- 10 stations/tables in Dissection Hall
2 for Upper limb
2 for Lower limb
2 for Thorax
1 for Bones
1 for X-rays
2 for Embryo

- All specimen will either be "chalked white and numbered" or either they will be "pinned with
different coloured pins" (Blue, Red, Green, White, and Yellow)
...

They might ask identify the pinned muscle or may make it tricky by "Give the nerve supply of the
pinned muscle"
...

- You have to be real fast in Anatomy OSPE
...
One way to tackle it which I heard from my seniors is that you take Jabbar
for a nice little tea one or two days before the OSPE
...
Maybe he will
give you extra 10 seconds or so
...
E
...
, you are standing in front of
Table/Station 8 at the starting point, and the bell rings and you start filling the answer sheet from

the section of Table/Station 1 !!! That is bullshit really
...
A lot of
students make this stupid mistake
...
Go for Dr
...
Sajjad, Dr
...

Fazal, etc for help
...
Naseer nor Dr
...

- Before you go for the OSPE
...

- And on that day if you feel like "Warr gaye bhai"
...
They will assign a teacher with you who will tell you the colour of the pins and hopefully the
answers too if the assigned one is a kind one
...
(HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
...
Magar jo khud OSPE ma urr jae usse maphr pass nahi kr skta"
...

- Make videos and take pictures of SPOTTING
...
Naseer may be the worst examiner but he is the
best at Spotting
...

- Also get grip on your NETTER
...

- 12 stations in total
...
1 mark for identification point
...

- Usually the last station where you end is your LONG SLIDE which you have to draw and label
...

- So if it is this way then you can do a little trick
...
So of you know where is that SLIDE (Identify the epithelium is written with chalk on the
table), plus you know which way the circle is moving
...
you can
synchronize it to your advantage
...
And the Epithelium is at
6
...
When the OSPE ends, you'll be automatically be at 6
...
No one really checks it
...

- Do not forget to bring your H&E pencils
...

- Questions are like where is a specific point on the body/model? E
...
, coracoid process, inguinal
ligament, etc
...

- Boundaries of Lungs, Heart, Ribs, Femoral Triangle, etc
...

○ VIVA portion:
- 3 regions and Embryo; divided into 2 parts (Upper Limb + Thorax
...

- If it is Sir Arshad then you will pass the Viva as per his words but you will have to pass the OSPE
yourself
...
