To start with, Rosa (2008) finds lots of difficulties facing computer science learners, and states that “analysis of the English teaching problems at the Department of the Computer Science has brought more questi ons than answers” . Chen (2006,24) stresses the importance of the identification of a ‘common core’ of English language needs among the program participants, as well as teaching a diverse range of discourses and genres to meet their ‘specific’ needs . In addition, Rahman (2012) explores the difficulties encountered by the students in reading texts for the computer science program. His study reveals the reading skills needed by the undergraduates of computer science for academic purposes.
