hits another person on the lead, whilst they are stationary and from a distance
...
If there are enough footballs for each
student in the class that great, but if not 1 footy between 2 students
...

9
...
Start by organising 5 teams of 6
and allocate a hoop to each group
2
...
Place around 20 footballs in the
centre of teams in the golden
hoop
4
...
Only one team member at a time
may go and collect footballs, and
once all footballs have been taken
from the middle they may steal
footballs off other teams hoops
6
...
Other variations of the game can
include bouncing the ball on the
way back or extending the
markers and adding a kick to
receiving player rather than a
handball
Handball
-Students are to use their pace and
agility to run and receive the ball
-Keeping a good technique of the
handball whilst running is also very
important as it provides a simple catch
for the student standing at the hula hoop
ready to go
...
-Should be commentating the action
and calling out which team looks like
they’re winning, so other teams can
look up and make the competition
interesting
...
-Should be cheering on their teammates
and talking tactics of which football they
need to steal off the other teams
Bridging organisation
-Students are to bring in the cones, hula hoops and footballs, every student should have at least one piece of equipment
-On the way in to the teacher tell the students to get into groups of 3 for the next activity
-Each 3 needs one ball between the group and sitting down in front of the teacher

Time
Activity 1: Wrap, Pick up, Dish
1
...
Two students from the group
stand around 10-15 metres apart
from each other and the third
person stand in between these
two
3
...
They then run around the back,
the person with the ball rolls the
ball along the ground, and student
in the middle comes through picks
the ball up and handpasses to the
other student on the outside at
the opposite end
5
...
Rotate through each of the three
people
7
...
Extend into a kick and do exactly
the same process as the handball
9
...
-Teachers should be walking around
and watching each student and
correcting technique if necessary, or
maybe just slowing the drill down if
they don’t understand the process
...
-Extend the group which find the drill
easy and see how many handballs
can be completed within a certain time
frame
-Compete with each other and see if you
can complete 10/10 handballs or kicks
that hit the other person every time
...
35
9
...
Students are to get into 5 groups
of 6, with one leader of the group
2
...
Students should be lined up with
people either side from other
groups
4
...
Once the student has returned to
their place they pick up the
football and handpass back to the
leader and sits down
6
...
The leader gets the ball from the
last person in their team and runs
over the finish line beyond the
groups
8
...

Game: Football Dodge
1
...
Select 4-6 students to start as the
hand ballers as they have the
footballs and trying to get others
out
...
The rest of the group lines up at
the end of the rectangular grid
and their aim is to run through
without getting hit with a football
4
...
The game goes on until a final
person is standing and they are
the winner
6
...

Closure:
Handball
-Again students handballing accuracy
needs to be very precise as the moving
targets can dodge and weave the
incoming handballs
-Students on the outside should be
trying to handball and get the runners to
join them on the outside
...
-Can join into the hand ballers if
necessary, if the starting 4-6 students
are having troubles getting some
people out
...
Tactics might be required to
make it through as students can work
together
...
Allocate
the winning students from dodge to return all equipment (cones and footballs)
...
Teacher asks students about what they learnt today
