Unit 12: Internet Marketing in Business
P1: Describe how the marketing activities of different businesses have incorporated internet
marketing
In this task, I will be explaining how different businesses use the 7 P’s in order to promote
their products and brand in order to raise awareness
...
Through this, businesses may use the 7 P’s, those being Product,
Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process and Physical Evidence
...

Spotify
Firstly, Spotify is an online music service, which people use in order to listen, compile and
share music
...

The product that Spotify offers is music online which is easily accessible
...

The prices differ from what the user wants from the service
...
99 a month for the rest of the time
you’ll be using the service
...
99 a month
...
I believe that the price you would pay a month would be very
good value for money, as when you consider how much content you are able to access for
that price, then it would be money well spent
...
As I said earlier, Spotify is an online service application,
so they would be available to download on multiple app stores as well as the website where
you can login, and have access to whatever you listen to
...
The app is also easy to understand, and has an

easy layout, so therefore you are then able to easily access your playlists, downloaded
music/podcasts, so this is a very convenient way to listen/access audio content as a whole
...
Therefore, as Spotify is
an online service, they stay within that domain, and promote online, so you’d see them on
social media, such as Instagram (Promoted Post), Twitter (Promoted Tweet), YouTube (Mid
Roll Ad), etc, as this is where their main (potential) customer base would reside, so therefore
this would be an easy way to access them
...
They’d also
use more ‘traditional’ online promotion methods, such as banner ads on websites, as well as
pop ups and emails, in order to directly promote to customers what their brand is about and
what services they offer
...

In terms of people or customer service, Spotify isn’t a tangible product or service, so
therefore you can’t directly lodge a complaint in person, however, as Spotify is online, they
have a large presence within the online domain through social media, so if you have a
complaint to make, you could easily tweet @SpotifyUK, to enquire about any personal
complaint you have about the service or the music they promote/share on the site
...

In terms of the process, and how Spotify works, they manage through a subscription service,
as noted earlier for £3 for the first three months, when you’re a new customer, and this will
then increase to £9
...
As a
member, you have access to certain perks such as the ability to listen to music offline,
through being able to download music, as well as no ads popping up through the song or
after you listened to the song/podcast
...

In terms of physical evidence of the service, Spotify has a head office in Stockholm,
Sweden, where this may be used to manage app develop, music licensing, etc
...

adidas
The product that adidas offers is mainly lifestyle apparel/sporting equipment, which is
available both online and in stores, however for this task, I will be focusing on the online side
of the business
...

The prices online may differ from product to product, as food would be the same as what the
prices are in store, and technology, would be a similar price to other retailers (RRP), and as
Tesco are a popular superstore, their prices need to be reasonable, edging on cheap, as
they need to entice customers to want to shop with them, so their prices need to be
reasonable
...

In terms of place, Tesco has many stores around the country, mainly in towns across the
country as these would be the most accessible areas for families across the UK
...

However, online they also have a large presence, as they have an online shopping website,
where you can click and collect products or get home delivery
...
They also have an app, where you can access the store, and
through this you could enter your login, and it would be a more convenient way to buy their
products, as you can buy any products, when your travelling or out somewhere, without
having to go to the store in person, so therefore, you can easily access the store and makes
shopping much more convenient
...
Tesco are able to do more traditional forms of marketing such as posters, TV
adverts etc
...
customer base would
reside, so therefore this would be an easy way to access them
...
For the emails, they would email the customers they currently have to tell
them about promotions they currently have such as slashed prices, or BOGOF
...
Tesco also have their clubcard, to entice customers to carry
on shopping with them, so therefore, everytime a customer shops at Tesco, they’d scan their
clubcard, and they would then get points, leading to discounts and vouchers, which would

then get them money off their shop, so through this promotion, they are enticing more
customers to stick with Tesco, rather than change stores
...
You can also
find the contact information on the Tesco website, so you can easily call the phone number
they have for customer service, or email them about any enquiries you may have, so
therefore you can see that the customer service for Tesco is easily accessible, as they care
about their customers, so they want to ensure that they resolve any potential customer
issues
...

As a customer, you also have to pay for delivery, as Tesco needs to get the product to you in
time, so this would come from the customer, depending on when they’d like the product, to
see how willing they are to receive the products in time
...
They also have their head
offices based in Hertfordshire, UK
