The Act enlists that the workplace have certain provisions to be upheld:

Safe operation to be upheld throughout which includes regular maintenance of the
workplace environment, equipment etc

Maintenance of safe access and exits, at the workplace, such as fire and emergency
exits

-

Safe storage of hazardous chemicals

-

Appropriate health and safety training for staff

-

Employers must keep and update a written Health and Safety Policy, and include
employees, in order to keep everyone updated with regulations

Health and Safety at Work Act Regulations 1999

The variation of the Act sets out the general duties which employers have towards
employees and members of the public, as well as employees have to themselves and to
each other

The key requirement on employers is to carry out a risk assessment, and employers with five
or more employees need to record the significant findings of the risk assessment

equipment efficiently and effectively

Equipment must be maintained to a high standard, if not, then be replaced

Must ensure that employees are using the relevant safety equipment
