WHAT CAUSES THE SEASONS?
By: Roshan Mettupalli
October 4, 2015
Science Period: 7

Research Question:
What causes the seasons?

My Claim:
The seasons are caused by the Earth’s tilt
...

20° Fahrenheit
46° Fahrenheit
54° Fahrenheit
23° Fahrenheit

Based on all this evidence, Anchorage, Alaska is receiving a low temperature in the
colder months, which makes it clear that it’s winter
...
And also states
that the southern is facing away from the sun
...
5° Tilt

Sun Rays/Heat/Energy

My Evidence (Continued):
Also the daylight hours are shorter
...
That is because of the Earth’s tilt on its
23
...

The highlighted portion shows the daylight hours that get about 9 hours:
Months

Apr-May-June

Oct-Nov-Dec

Average Daylight
9 hours- 7 minutes
17 hours- 11
minutes
15 hours- 42
minutes
7 hours- 36
minutes

Average Temp
...
Thus, the northern Hemisphere experiences summer during this time period
...
Why? Because the Earth’s
Northern Hemisphere is currently facing the sun, like I said before
...

My Reasoning:
I am sure that all of this evidence is reasonable because first of all, if there is not much
heat to one spot, then there is not much warmth
...

For example:

The part of the
sunlight blocked
from the broad tree

My Reasoning (Continued):
Just for now, let’s say that The Sun is the Sun, the Earth is the tree, and the section
under the tree is Earth’s tilt facing opposite or not fully to the sun
...
That
is because the Sun’s heat, energy, and light can break through Earth’s atmosphere and
hit Earth’s surface
...
Even though
the Earth’s southern hemisphere is facing by a tilt to the Sun, the Sun breaks through
the non- facing place and still gives all three sunlight, heat, and energy, but not as much
as the northern hemisphere
...
Instead, the Earth’s southern hemisphere faces directly to the
sun:
Earth’s 23
...
5° tilt on its axis
...
If it is summer in the northern hemisphere, then it would
be winter in the southern hemisphere
...
If it
is winter in the northern hemisphere, then it would be summer in the southern
hemisphere
...
The first and
last six months in there, receives less sunlight, heat and energy, because they face tilted,
not fully, to the Sun
...
All of this is caused is
because of the Earth’s 23
...
