Blood Diamond
Write a text that answers the question: “What themes does the film ‘Blood Diamond’
explore?” You should mention the setting, characters and the main conflicts that the story
revolves around
...
It is about two
Africans, Danny and Solomon with very different lives
...
The main conflicts in the story is
firstly about the rare, pink diamond
...
‘Blood Diamond’ gets into many themes as well
...
The main and minor
characters are the main affections to the story, and what they do are a big part of why I
think these themes are the right ones
...
Danny, on the other hand is also one of the main characters and he has a hard past
...
Which
makes another theme about “change
...
In
Sierra Leone in the end of the 90’s, a civil war is making chaos
...
A group of rebels invades their
village and Solomon and his son is two of the victims that are kidnapped to be very different
things
...
While Solomon is working, he finds a very rare, pink diamond that is worth a lot of
money
...
“Fortunatly,” they don’t find the diamond
so he gets arrested
...
And
this is where their journey starts together
...
” That
is because Danny change a lot during the movie
...
At first, Danny just uses Salomon to get closer to the diamond, for
this reason to take the diamond himself and earn lots of money with it
...
She ends up helping Danny and Solomon to achieve what they want
...
Moreover,
that comes to a point where he eventually realizes that he does not need the diamond as
much as he thought and decides to give it to Solomon at the end
...
Other themes the movie explore is love and family
...
He wants get his family back, and by family I mean
especially one of the minor characters, his son Dia
...
This is a big
conflict itself, it is hard to get him back because he is so confused about everything
...
“Love and family” is a perfect subject because it
brings up the fact that Salomon never gives up on Dia even though he know it is almost
impossible to get him back
...
That is what we call
love
...
That is because of Solomon who
got forced to work with the diamond searching
...
The movie really makes people see how terrible it is
...
To make slavery stop
...
Solomon and Danny develops a special friendship, which change many things
...
As well as it is a great story with a beautiful
ending, if you dig a little deeper than that you’ll see it’s much horrible things that is still
happening today
...
That
is what’s sad about the story, because those things didn’t end the same way slavery ended
for Solomon and Dia, because they were only two individuals
...
“Blood Diamond” brought up these topics to make sure more
people were aware of this, so that could may be a start to end it
...
