Title: Cartoon - Newsletter Layout
Description: Has a few images and tables. Includes: - How a Cartoon is made - Opinion about character structure in cartoons - Why there's a dispute about if anime or cartoons are better. Sneak Peek: To make a cartoon someone has to brainstorm ideas for the show, like what kind of cartoon they want to create: educational, comedic, science fiction etc. Then they must create a script which a storyboard artist, or someone with drawing skills, will interpret and make illustrations to represent different scenes. This is called a storyboard. After it’s created, it has to be revised and edited until it is good enough to be animated. To animate a cartoon a cartoonist or team of cartoonists proceed in drawing a series of pictures on transparent sheets of paper.

After it’s created, it has to

...
Artists can also
choose to draw them
electronically

Once all the images are

Finally, once the

put together the cartoon is

A 3dimensional personality is
when the reasons behind a
fictional character’s behavior
are progressively developed
throughout their media
...

What makes them “3dimensional” is the fact that
they cannot continue to grow
beyond their media
...

This
takes
much thought and planning
to make everything come
together
cohesively
...

Often
the
3dimensional
character
approach is omitted for

comedic and/or educational
purposes

For Example:

Gravity Falls

Avatar: The Last

Adventure Time

Steven Universe

A common factor of these
cartoons is an ultimate goal
that the characters want to
achieve over an elongated
period of time
...
When this
element is omitted for the
show to focus on other
themes, characters will often
have
a
“2-dimensional
personality” which means
they’re predictable and are
made to perfectly fit their
story
...

However, they keep viewers
coming back with their slapstick humour and/or their
educational value
...
Krabs and Stan Pines:
they are both obsessed with
money and own a business
where the main characters
work
...
Krabs are
extremely different
...

Krabs is greedy for no
apparent reason and the
show never goes into depth
why he is the way he is
...
In
contrast, Stan Pines starts out
as a self-centered uncle, but
as the show develops
viewers discover why he
became so obsessed with
money and the reasons
behind
his
narcissistic
actions
...
The

development
of
the
characters with the viewers
is what gets them attached to
them
...
Cartoons

Since we, as humans, have
become
globalized,
the
access to resources from
across the world has never
been easier
...
Ever since
cartoons and anime have
been easily accessible, a
debate arose: what is better,
anime or cartoons? The main
reason of this debate stems
from the fact that the art of
their shows are processed
differently
...

Although there are some
terrible anime and cartoons
out there, it’s a small
percentage that can be
easily overlooked by the
diverse amount of other
shows
...
As well as playing
sports, drawing and other
activities
...
My family is not the
type to “Go with the flow” so
I would be one of the few
girls who played soccer or
basketball at recess
