The play that I specialise is called “Be my baby” by Amanda
Whittington

The play is about
a young pregnant teenage girl Mary, unmarried entering a
saint saviour mother and baby centre a place where it takes
unmarried mothers during pregrancy and accommodates
them untill their child is born and given up for adoption and
meets two other teenage pregnant girls and they become
good friends, the story shows how the girls cope and how
they deal things alone with the forced separation from her
child

I explored my characters personality by carrying out
research that involved looking for textual clues in the script
...
It is clear from the text that my character is not
very smart "theres nothing here on blood but its bound to
when you think of it,when they cut your tummy for the
baby", this is when my character and the other two other
girls in the laundry talking about first dates and dolores my
character asks the question making her feel like a foul as
queenie answers her question
...
In this scene also we
discover her sensitive side when she completely opens up
about who got her pregrant and how she cheated on alfie
with this lad from packing
...
I knew that my character would be dumb
from the things she says on the script and from the way she
says it being bubbly making me suit the character
...

Some problems i had during the rehearsal stage was
learning this one specific line "when i got home, he'd been
out looking, said he fetched the policeman but my mum said

ill be in bother, she told him to go home and say no more
about it so he did" that one line i kept forgetting, i also had a
problem with me in two seperate groups doing the same
play it was difficult trying to make the blocking different in
each both plays and one specific group members didnt turn
up making me feel worried as i dont know how to do the
blocking myself luckily i am in another group im getting
assessed on and they are great they want to pass and ive
learned well with this group

we had critiques off
our drama teacher and this helped improve our
performance
...
I decided that point was that she wasnt
the smartest girl in the world, she was a typical 17 year old
but 3 months pregrant, she claimed to have a boyfriend at
home called alfie but she cheated on him and became
pregrant with someone elses baby, she was the baby of the
3 girls she was the youngest and not long pregrant
...
As dolores wasnt smart she
didnt do well in school except from drama which she
thoroughly enjoyed
...
At scene 4 of the play i decided to use a
interested face to show shes getting into the magazine she
was reading
...
I will keep this mood up untill
i am given my part to play in the scene 5 where i am working
in the laundry this time and speak about alfie my boyfriend
and then talk about how i got the bump as queenie mocks
her
...
My pitch will be slightly higher and fast pace
and when talking about the lad from packing to a sad
emotional faciel expression
...
I will use shaky
body language to show i am embarrased, this shows she
cant cope with a baby
